Fractals rendered as graphics are fascinating, but there are musical renditions of fractals too. I find these strangely moving:
Fractal Vibes
I always was a bit of a hippy and over time the music which remains my favourite is absolute hippy, such as Terry Riley, who made an album called Poppy No-good and his Phantom Band, a beautiful sea of bubbling synthesizers inhabitted by shoals of multi-layered saxophones.
Most of the hippy genre, from the decidedly oppressive while mysterious and beautiful French band "Magma", to the pot head pixie silliness and brilliance of Gong (also largely French) is listenable on the wonderful Progressive Rock Archives. A veritable museum of forgotten ideals and unforgettable musics.
