Rationally I thought how double yolks would probably be selected in the farm, as undesirable in terms of the perfect product for supermarket shelves. Any outlyers would be grouped into boxes and sold cheaply to staff at the egg packing plant. My box of six double yolks would likely have been simply one of these which happened to slip through to the supermarket.
It is curious that I happened to pick up that odd carton. The intuitive awareness that 2009 was going to turn out a very propitious year was accurate.
