"Hadouk Blues". Saxophonist, Didier Malherbe, played with psychedelic-rock
band Gong and Trio Hadouk. Gong was a rock format with lots of swirling
synths, hippie lyrics and grooving bass and drums. Trio Hadouk is a
more nuanced world-music trio with delicious ethnic instruments and the
spaces between notes akin to deserts and inland seas. Didier Malherbe is
an excellent saxophonist but here he plays a double-reed woodwind
instrument made of apricot wood, the Armenian Duduk. Just listen.
